Bistro Du Vin Restaurant

A wonderful Labor Day spent with w ze ptbf for lunch & movie date ^^

Reservation was made at Bistro Du Vin, Shaw Centre (:
This is one of the most impressive & affordable French meals I've had so far!
It is a very homely restaurant with a good mix of locals and foreigners dining.

The set menu we were offered.
Depending on the season, this menu changes according to the ingredients the chef receive,
so what we had that day might not be available on the next visit :|
Guess, this is how they keep their dining sessions interesting!
Like what de ptbf aka the wine enthusiast always says, what French/Italian food without wine.
I always trust his judgement in ordering a bottle not too heavy-bodied &
yet compliment the food perfectly as I'm not a reds person (:
Both of us went for the Foie Gras Ravioli w shaved mushrooms and port wine sauce.
Every single time I see foie gras on the menu it is pretty unlikely I'll skip it :P
The quiche tart we saw on the next table looked great though & hopefully it'll still be available!
For mains, I went for the Duck Leg Confit, served with sauteed mushroom.
Classic dish that will appear in every French restaurant but not all is done well.
Most places overcook the meat but this is perfect!
The boy's choice of main course
The stewed pork cheek meat were succulent and
the truffle mash that came along was absolutely divine!
Creme Brulee
Not available on the set menu but you can request for it at just additional 2$ (:
So creamy..Definitely worth the top-up!
Banana Tart Tartin w Ginger and Lemongrass Ice Cream
I was pleasantly surprised how great this combination turns out!
Totally enjoyed savoring every bite :P
Some days you will be the light for others,
and some days you will need some light from them.
As long as there is light, there is hope, and there is a way.
