From Lucerne to Venice

I am losing my momentum in keeping up with my Europe trip entries hahaha!
But it will be such a waste not to share all these pretty sights with my blogfam
(esp. those who have not traveled to Europe before). Is this Love or whut? :P

02/05
So from the last entry (23/05), we arrived in Venice from Lucerne in the late afternoon.
Arrival in Venice means its already the 6th day that I’m in Europe and I’m feeling sad having two more cities left before leaving here for home :(

We cruised along the Grand Canal by taking a private water taxi admiring the magnificent and elegant palazzos. We see the Rialto Bridge and then reach the most beautiful outdoor drawing room in the world, St. Mark's Square.
Rialto Bridge
The oldest of the four bridges spanning the Grand Canal.
It was built in 1591 with shops either side of the central portico, the rents from which were to help with its maintenance.
St. Mark's Square
Dating from the 12th century, Venice's principal public square bordered by St. Mark's Basilica, the Doge's Palace, the Campanile clock tower, museums and several commercial buildings.
Please go for the Gondola Ride when you are in Venice.
These gondola will guide along the picturesque smaller canals and it is very interesting and fun.

Our tour director, Clare collecting our tickets.
Champagne is complimentary (: Superb!
Our Philippines friends who have been residing in the United States for 20 years. Really friendly and easy-going.
The boy is pouting cause he had a "special seat" hahaha!
Bridge of Sighs
Enclosed bridge between the jail and the Doge's Palace, so named because prisoners gave a sigh as they looked out its window to see Venice for the last time before being imprisoned.
A duo of musicians (a vocalist + a mobile pianist) entertains the honeymoon couple.
Attention drawing up 100% heh!
(Y)
And the amazing gelato!!

HAPPINESS! ♥
Third ride for the day back to the bus terminal for hotel check-in. Seasick much? lol
The hotel made us really good courses that evening!
And it was like ala carte buffet style. Say, if you want more of the spaghetti, all you need is to ask and they will gladly serve (:
03/05
Another day in Venice, another magical experience.
We took a bigger boat back to St.Mark's Square that morning and visited the Murano glass factory along the way.
The angle of the photo makes it looks like a collision eh!
And more pictures of the historical sculptures.
Up close of the Campanile clock tower.
At the glass making demonstration. Damm awesome skills lah.
Most of us opted for the Lagoon cruise to the nearby islands of Venice.
Here, we are able to see the island of Murano and the Hermitage of San Francesco Del Deserto.

*Notice the leaning tower. The funny thing is it only looks slanting at certain angles.
So is it really leaning or cause of the movement of the waves playing a trick? You decide.
The little houses there are so colorful! Your mood is perpetually uplifted instantly.
Why Singapore no have? :(
Lunch is taken at the island of the "Fisherman" - Burano - a photographer's paradise.
Food was very delicious but a tad too much and we were literally gasping for air :|
I still have Florence and Rome lookbooks to share with you. #killmenow

But no worries, you only need to read (leave the tough job to me. boo.)

By the way, it will be officially June tomorrow. Cheers to a better next half of the year!
