Saturday was SP's birthday and we went for buffet dinner at The Line at Shangri-La Hotel!
Heard so much about this place and since the boy loves his variety, why not? ;)

Let me show you the different counters available.

First up, the salad stop! (:

All the toppings and dips available in buffet style :P
Prawn Noodles and Laksa corner.
Lady chef preparing our meats! We both agree that the assorted meat was so-so only :\
Indian cuisine! Didnt get to try it :(
Naan and crackers.
My favorite sashimi! The Japanese food had the longest queue. Fish was fresh but grade wise pretty average only :|
Raw Seafood Platter. Love the raw oysters, scallops and crab most!
Think we were lucky that night as I heard only certain seafood is available on different nights. Glad we had the best :D
I must say that the service of Shangri-La Hotel is indeed commendable.
From the phone reservation to the attentiveness of the staff during dinner (:

Although The Line was fully packed, the staff cleared the plates promptly without the need to ask!
One value-added service they provide is complimentary cake for birthday celebrations.
They even voluntarily asked if you would like them to sing a birthday song hahaha!

Surprise #1
We were so full although we didn't have second servings at all :|
Think this is what buffet does to you right? Eat so much and you feel guilty for the next three days hahaha!
FYI, DBS/POSB cardholders enjoy additional 15% off total bill.

This year, I wanted SP's birthday to be super memorable.
Maybe cause I am leaving soon so I thought of planning something nice for memories' sake.
Initially I wanted to book a night at one of the Boutique Hotels. Checked out a few locations but none appeal and
the others were too expensive. No choice, I skipped the stay caption option :(

A plan to throw him a surprise party with his friends probably took place a month in advance.
And all along, he thinks that his friends have bailed out on him and that it will just two of us having a quiet evening :P

Surprise #2 was held at Ying Yang Rooftop Bar (:
This is probably one of the biggest kept secret I had to be hush hush about.
My heart was beating so fast! LOL
Cake is from Rive Gauche and its the Size 6 Classic Chocala. Everyone said it was deelicious (:
Although I didn't see his expression the moment he saw his friends, I bet it was priceless (:
Really appreciate his friends for their spontaneity and willingness in planning this whole surprise with me.
Hope you had a jolly good time and once again, Happy Birthday! x

Till then, Happy Holidays!
